Omi Maiko, which has long been known as a swimming spot with white sand beaches and green pine trees, is a scenic land known as the Eight Views of Omi.

​ In 2004 Pension: Alvilla Omi Maiko was born in this land sandwiched between Lake Biwa and Mt. Hira.
